π“Šπ“‹Όπ“Šπ“‹Όπ“Š SPARE THE WORLD π“Šπ“‹Όπ“Šπ“‹Όπ“Š

A Show by Kenny Grass

(Here's a lil' something to add some atmosphere to your viewing experience)

About the World

Our story is set on a planet known as Shukaza. It is much like our own, except for one key difference in the evolutionary timeline - the people evolved from plants instead of animals. This means they are highly connected to the earth, which can have pros and cons. A pro is that each person is born with a unique power known as a Fact that can aid them in a variety of ways, such as super speed and mind reading. Not all facts are as useful as others though, like a stink bomb defense mechanism. However, a major con is that the weather reacts with the amount of stress in the area, no matter the source. Each region has its own type of natural disaster that occurs when a surge of distress is felt. For example, a kid dropping a treat could cause a fire, blizzard, tornado, earthquake, or hurricane.

The world is divided into five different regions, each representing a reproductive method in plants. They are: Angio, Gymno, Thallo, Bryo, and Pterido. Every region plays a very important role in society, each having their own exports, cultures, responsibilities, and climates. Once one is deemed ready, they choose a job that best suits their interests and personality within their region. If someone falls behind on their job and creates stress, any kind of disaster could suddenly whip up. This innate fear and awe of the world is what drives the people to take good care of the planet, and keep society on the right track.

However, while those in the light remain delightfully unbothered, an evil begins to brew in the shadows. A mysterious Rot begins infecting the people of Shukaza, turning them uncharacteristically manipulative and menacing. If it continues to develop the Rot will spread to the brain and fully consume the Rotten one, turning them highly violent before taking their life. This is an unprecedented threat in Shukaza, as this level of malintent has never been seen before. The only known method of getting rid of it is to banish the Rotten one to the desert where no one can survive. Thus, an order is put out to report any Rotten one to the Council to be dealt with accordingly. Other than that, the Rot is largely a mystery to the world.

Our main characters' job is to save those in danger of the chaos created by the forces of nature. Some missions are more successful than others, but that won't stop our squad from trying as hard as they can to keep the public safe from disaster. As much as they can prepare for unpredictable circumstances who knows what would happen if the sinister Rot threatened to disturb the peace of their group?

Character Lineup!

a teal, yellow, green, and black colored character named Eren stands with their hand on their hip and winking at the camera.

Meet Eren the Lichen. Between their spunky nature, fierce loyalty and hot head, they are the full package! Their Fact is changing color with their emotions, which makes hiding their short temper essentially impossible. Since their outbursts can isolate them at times, they spend their free time hammering away at eccentric machines. Their fuse may be short, but once you find a spot in their heart, you will have a lifelong friend that would go to the ends of the world and back for you. More than anything Eren wants to help people, and though the execution isn't always perfect, Eren never gives up on someone in need. Fun Fact: Eren made a handshake machine that malfunctioned, so now they can't turn it off for fear of being body slammed.

a green, maroon, and yellow colored character named Raini stands with her leg kicked and arms in the air.

Here is Eren's younger sister and best friend Raini, who has the same Fact as Eren. When the squad are on a mission everyone seems to already know and love her, and she never fails to cheer someone up with her wackiness. If you manage to make her dislike you, it would be in your best interest to escape immediately. Her wrath is unparalleled when it comes to revenge, but only if you truly deserve it. All these qualities make her one of Thallo's many treasures! Fun Fact: Raini often daydreams about being a stitchmaker in Pterido and has made a plethora of her own clothes.

a pink haired brown character with a blue jumpsuit and yellow toolbelt, hands on his hips with a content expression

This guy is Stemon, the slime mold. Seeing as none of the other members are equipped to take control of a situation rationally, he assumes the role of leader in the group. He also has the Fact of super speed when he eats food, making him quick to the scene of crisis. He is determined to do his job correctly and safely, and sometimes sticking to the rules can make him come across as a bit of a jerk. He doesn't really care, since he knows at the end of the day keeping everyone safe is more important than the team's desire to goof off. Fun Fact: Stemon has an embarrassing side effect of his Fact which is that a foul stench emits from his body when he feels threatened or is injured.

a yellow, orange, grey, and black colored character stands aloofly.

Up next is Physa, another slime mold. He has an unwavering apathy that can range from being useful to straight up obnoxious, and yet he still has the audacity to look down on the other team members. He doesn't seem to have much passion for the things one might consider "fun" or "interesting", but witnesses report they've caught glimpses of him monologuing to himself in the mirror at home. His Fact of mind reading comes in handy in solving disputes between people like meatheads, but his sassy nature often gets in the way of being the hero. Fun Fact: Physa has held the local staring contest trophy for five consecutive years.

a brown, pale, and purple mushroom boy stands looking frail.

Last and certainly least, we have Aman. He's got the instincts of a deer and the build of dry spaghetti, but he is a very valuable addition to the team. He uses his adorably helpless face to subdue and puppet others, often being used as a last ditch effort since it greatly drains him. Being the newest member of the squad and having absolutely no muscle mass, Eren cares a lot about protecting him from the chaos of the world they live in. Fun Fact: Aman once got so scared of his own shadow that he peed himself and cried.

Logline & Tagline

Logline: In a world of plant people where the weather reacts to stress, a lichen and their squad must save the people of Shukaza from themselves.

Tagline: Coming up with practical solutions to an impractical world.

Audience

TV-PG due to heavy themes, fantasy violence, and occasional nods to grown up stuff. I want kids ages 10+ to be able to watch it and enjoy themselves, while secretly helping them develop in an emotionally mature way.

This admirable child loves it because it has cool action scenes and funny jokes!

These young adults get it because it's deep and personal!

These guys will show it to their kids someday because it teaches valuable life lessons!

Creative Vision

Creative Vision

Message: In order for a society to thrive, there must be a balance between self care and selflesness.

Genre: Adventure, comedy, fantasy, action, drama.

Sense of humor: Self aware of the situations they're in but not in a meta way. Clever, observational, ranging from dry to overly theatrical. Similar to The Amazing World of Gumball, Arrested Development, and Mob Psycho 100.

Visual Style Inspirations: Early 2000s cartoon inspired. Colorful, distinct shapes and expressions, lots of line variation, experimental, simple but not minimalist.

Adventure Time: Unique display of motion and good character designs.

Avatar the Last Airbender: Memorable expressions and lovable characters. (I laughed so hard just looking at this picture and recalling this moment.)

Soul Eater: Creative camera angles and bold character/world designs. Character designs are very distinct and convey the individual's personality.

Powepuff Girls: All around some of the best squad representation out there. Bold lines and colors, visually descriptive character designs, variety in shapes/colors while still following a theme.

Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends: Unique color palette, creative designs while all fitting into a very specific style, not afraid to be eccentric with designs.

Format

Episodic premise with overarching plot, 20 minute episodes. Some things won't make sense if you're not caught up, but there will be one-off adventures to make up for that.

What Now?

My characters are jonesing to meet people, and so am I! Right now I want to meet as many people as possible, even if you don't think your skills would be useful to my project. While I definitely need people who know how to make an animated series come to life, if you think my idea is cool and you want to share your knowledge feel free to send an email my way!

π“Šπ“‹Όπ“Š Before I Go... π“Šπ“‹Όπ“Š

On behalf of Eren, Raini, Stemon, Physa, Aman, and all the little guys you haven't met yet, I would like to thank you for making it this far. It means the world to all of us that you would take however long to read this whole thing. What started as a story in my head is closer than ever to becoming something I can experience in reality. I can't wait to witness my characters come to life, and for you to grow with us!
